- Researches standard reference materials, including online sources to answer patron's reference questions. - Conducts research on the e-resources vendor/publisher market. - Develops lists of e-resources for purchases. - Manages current subscriptions and online access. - Maintains and updates library webpage. - Analyzes patron's request to determine needed information, and assists in furnishing or locating that information. - Assists and educates library patrons to search for information using databases -Keeps records of circulation and materials. -Explains use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services: and provides information about library policies. -Reviews and evaluates resource materials, such as book reviews and catalogs, in order to select and order print, audiovisual, and electronic resources. -Codes, classifies and catalog books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard classification systems. -Locates unusual or unique information is response to specific requests. -Provides general reference services in all disciplines individually and at the services desks, as well as specialized reference/ research services. -Provides input in the selection of new reference resources based on analysis, need and suitability. -Contributes information and advises about user’s needs towards ongoing planning and development. -Participates in development of reference services, information literacy and e-learning policies. -Coordinates the development of library publications to promote and instruct on the library and its resources. -Performs other related duties as required.
