Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily observations of animals and their environmental conditions. • Feed and water animals daily and ensure individual animal welfare. • Maintain animal bedding and housing conditions to prescribed standards. • Clean or maintain animal cages, trays, racks, rooms and equipment as required. • Handle and move animals according to requirements in a safe manner. • Maintain animal breeding colonies according to SOP instructions. • Maintain experimental animal groups according to protocol requirements. • Ensure adequate supply and integrity of animal and facility consumables. • Maintain animal facility records and forms according to instructions. • Assist authorized personnel with administering medication and/or dosing. • Assist authorized personnel with technical procedures including blood collection and injections. • Assist authorized personnel with euthanasia procedures. • Provide input on methods to improve work safety, efficiency and animal care. • Report unexpected or adverse events or observations to supervisor. • Ensure all work complies with ethical conduct for care of animal. • Perform other job related duties.
