Job Responsibilities

Principal Duties: I. Checks condition, install and maintain or recharge portable fire extinguishers, applicable to the existing maintenance equipment. 2. On a regular basis, check all fire extinguishers' maintenance equipment, availability of components, and report to Senior Fire Officer any deficiency observed. 3. Ensures that a reasonable number of spare fire extinguishers are available at all times, and any deflation of spare quantity reported immediately to Senior Fire Officer. 4. Ensures that fire extinguishers used for hands-on live fire training are maintained, checked regularly and refilled for training use. 5. Attends automatic fire extinguishing system inspection and tests. 6. Maintains record of all program portable fire extinguishers, ensuring that type, location and assignments are updated. 7. Regularly checks the Fire Training ground ensuring that, equipment and materials used for live fire training are maintained. 8. Works rotating shifts, if so required. 9. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Requirements: 1. Minimum High School education is required. 2. Preferred four (4) years experience as fully paid member of a Fire Department. If locally hired and trained in-house, one (1) year service as a Fire Extinguisher maintenance designee is adequate. 3. Preferred knowledge with fire extinguisher tools and equipment and possess technical training. 4. Must hold professional qualifications as firefighter, acquired through the in-house or extended training programs, if locally hired. 5. Beneficial working knowledge of the NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguisher or equivalent standards is required. 6. Must be physically fit to withstand the rigors of fire fighting as medically determined by physical examination, as this position is subject to recall in case of fire emergency situation. 7. Basic knowledge of CPR training required. 8. Essential Valid Saudi Driving License.
