Principal Duties: • Manages maintenance issues and deals with staff, end users and all levels of management, daily and as needed. • Reviews assigned work orders. Carries out functional planning and scheduling. Regularly provides updates and reports work status. • Timely response to Help Desk service requests related to assigned areas and to emergency situations (on call). • Ensures work is completed in accordance with standards, codes, policies and procedures (IPP and APP). • Prepares cost estimates, timelines and downtime estimates for assigned work. Ensures cost effective employee performance in the work completed. • Keeps Deputy Director, U & M advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments. • Prepares plan, schedule, budget and interim reports as required. • Standardizes, organizes and improves the quality of services and products used in the maintenance of all properties. Standardizes diagnostic approaches for troubleshooting. • Formulates and recommends incorporation of updates to existing safety procedures in the area of responsibility. • Ensures compliance to organizational standards of site and fire safety procedures and administrative policies and procedures. • Analyzes problems quickly and develops corrective actions. • Coordinates with Safety and Training Engineers to facilitate technical and safety on the job training needs for the personnel. Ensures level of awareness is met. Assures that reserve of trained staff cater the present . and future need of the department. • Ensures routine general and preventive maintenance processes are in place. • Defines and operates a comprehensive Planned Preventive Maintenance System (PPM) which will identify all PPM work that is required in the area of responsibility and ensure that the work is actually being done as described. • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
