Job Requirements

Education : Bachelor Degree in Accounting or a related field – Essential Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Accounting – Essential Other Requirements : Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Preferred English Language skills: IELTS: 5, STEP: 75, or TOEFL: (PBT: 466) (IBT: 51)

Job Responsibilities

 Handles research approved budgets; expense analysis; periodic invoicing; financial recording; project budget modifications and grant close-out process.  Monitors research funding and expenditures ensuring appropriate use of funds.  Maintains and implements the research projects financial and procurement internal control systems.  Identifies and recommends cost savings initiatives for research grant activities.  Prepares monthly/quarterly financial research grant related reports including expenditure reports.  Performs weekly research grants accountant reconciliations; and responsible for grant allocation analysis  Monitors the research grants budgets variances and propose possible solutions to PIs and high management.  Ensures that KAIMRC disbursement and research grants agreements and contract files are audit ready at all times.  Pinpoint and recommend the best stakeholders commensurate with the needs of KAIMRC labs and projects.  Performs other job related duties as required.
