Education: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering- Essential Work Experience: Three (3) years Experience in medical equipment maintenance in a Maintenance- Essential Certification as a Biomedical Technician (CBET)- Preferred. English Language Skills: Level I IELTS: 6, STEP: 75, or TOEFL: (PBT: 500) (IBT: 61)
• Assists and performs incoming inspection, installation and commissioning of all incoming medical equipment in the university complex. Establishes a PPM procedure and schedule, in consultation with the Director/Manager/Supervisor. • Assists and performs PPM following the approved PPM procedures and demand service repair schedule on all medical equipment in the university complex. • Records and completes the necessary documentation, manually and in the Equipment Database, of all maintenance activities including PPM, repair, incoming inspection and modification. • Assists and conducts quality assurance rounds in area of responsibility as assigned by the Director/ Manager/Supervisor to assess equipment safety and function and to discuss with users any issues of mutual concern to minimize hazard risks associated with medical equipment use. • Operates specialized test equipment in troubleshooting, calibrating and maintaining medical equipment. • Coordinates, oversees and works with vendor's service representatives on new equipment installations and equipment warranty, demand and full service contracts. • Responds to emergency calls after hours through established on-call system • Provides recommendations as required on the safe and proper use of medical equipment to university staff and other training settings. • Assists in the in-service training program on use of equipment I devices. Provides hands on training of other staff members after attending specific equipment training course. • Ensures that "assigned" & "pooled" tools I test instruments are well maintained and stored properly. • Conforms to all department policies and procedures. • Participates actively in educational, safety and quality improvement activities of the department. • Performs other job related duties as required.
