1. Allocates a print space for the text, photos and illustrations according to the space parameters and copy significance, using the knowledge of the layout principles. 2. Reads, evaluates and edits content of the written materials submitted including the event web sites for tone, style, and presentations. 3. Maintains understanding of current web technologies through research, participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups. 4. Works with freelance editors and other contributors on established content projects - coaching, reviewing content and ensuring overall quality. 5. Performs direct web site updates, translation, typing, and editing of web photographs or content. 6. Analyzes the readers needs to determine technical requirements. 7. Responsible for ensuring new information is available periodically. 8. Responds to web inquiries and requests for information or refer problems to appropriate personnel for correction. 9. Ensures the website is kept up to date and that it reflects the changing face of the University. 10. Enhances the expansion of the web pages in terms of structure, navigation and content. 11. Assists with the development of web content to support communication (e.g. video production, use of social media) and other reader requirements. 12. Keeps abreast of web-related development across the university and shares acquired expertise. 13. Attends and contributes to regular training sessions arranged by web development teams.
