Job Requirements

Education: High School or equivalent- Essential Associate degree in Recreation I Sports Management/ Physical Education related field or equivalent- Preferred Certification: • Valid Certification in lifesaving (Red Crescent, Red Cross, Royal Life Saving Association etc), CPR, First Aid and lifeguard Training • Water Safety Instructor certification Other Requirements: • Responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of physical fitness • Responsible for maintaining all the required certifications Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience in recreation operation- Essential • Knowledge of the emergency procedures; • Capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct English; • Must be able to effectively communicate in English (face to face, via radio and telephone) to co-workers and guests. • Valid professional driving license for Male. English Language Skills: LEVEL II IELTS: 4.5, STEP: 50, or TOEFL: (PBT: 410-413) (IBT: 34)

Job Responsibilities

Principal Duties: • Provides clear directions, instruction, precautions, guidance and support to all users and dependents withregards to safety and proper care of the facility. • Warns recreational participants of unsafe areas or illegal conduct. • Supervises all activities in the assigned area preventing injuries and minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations. • Recognizes and responds effectively to all emergency situations both in the water and on the deck. • Administers first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation within the limits of training to victims in emergency situations using rescue techniques and equipment; provide an initial care necessary to sustain life until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel arrives. • Contacts emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury. • Informs other lifeguards and facility staff when additional help or equipment is required in the emergency situations. • Guards and monitors an assigned swimming area. • Monitors and records water conditions (temperature, clarity, chlorine, and PH levels) • Inspects recreational equipment for safety hazard and damage or wear; report unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor. • Completes and submits all required reports and records pertaining to untoward incidents, near-drowning cases, damaged or defective equipment, budget recommendations and personnel policies. • Completes and maintains records of swimming pool conditions, emergency medical treatments performed, and other relevant incident information. • Performs additional duties such as teaching swimming lessons, coaching aquatics sports, cleaning showers and lockers rooms, picking up litter, and dealing with lost and found articles. • Maintains the cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas; ensure that all doors and gates are locked and no users are on the premises when facility is closed. • Provides customers services to guests and departments • Performs other job related duties as required.
