Librarian (سعودة/احلال)

Principal Duties:

• Researches standard reference materials, including online sources to answer Library user’s reference questions. Assists and educates library user to search for information using databases, as well as, analyzing their requests to determine the needed information.

• Conducts research on the e-resources vendor/publisher market and develops lists of e-resources for purchases.

• Maintains current subscriptions and online access library webpage.

• Keeps records of circulation and materials.

• Explains use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services; and provides information about library policies.

• Reviews and evaluates resource materials, such as book reviews and catalogs, in order to select and order print, audiovisual, and electronic resources.

• Codes, classifies and catalogs books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems.

• Provides general reference services in all disciplines and at the service desks, as well as, specialized reference/research services. Provides input in the selection of new reference/electronic resources based on analysis, need and suitability.

• Contributes information and advises about user’s needs towards ongoing planning and development.

• Coordinates the development of library publications to promote and instruct on the library and its resources.

• Performs other job-related duties as required.
