Job Requirements

- English Language skills: IELTS: 6, STEP: 75, or TOEFL: (PBT: 500) (IBT: 61) Education: High School - E Comprehensive in-house training in combination with relevant ranking or relevant certificate of Training in Advanced Fire Fighting Course, Command & Control and Basic Fire Prevention or other relevant training courses or equivalent from an accredited fire engineering school or academy- E Work Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years structural firefighting experience, three (3) years of which are in a Team Leader or Fire inspector capacity or combination of both - E Other requirements: Hold a valid driving license for heavy duty vehicles - E Essential Physical Abilities: The primary duties of this job are performed in a work environment in which the employee is subject to potential personal danger. Job Responsibilities

Main areas of responsibility: I. Responsible for overseeing and directing the operation's day-to-day activities. 2. Plan, coordinate and supervise activities of fire suppression team during emergency response. 3. Command responses to emergency fire, hazardous material or other situations and function as the incident commander. 4. Responsible for situation assessment, tactic and strategy development and implementation, and the deployment of personnel and equipment. 5. Responsible for making determinations regarding requests for additional personnel, equipment and resources. 6. Personally perform a wide variety offirefighting techniques in emergency situations as necessary. 7. Plan, schedule, assign and participate in equipment and station maintenance, station-based drills and training, fire inspections and other operational and administrative functions. 8. Responsible for motivating, supervising, training, and evaluating subordinate-level employees. 9. Responsible for prioritizing, scheduling, and completing tasks associated with non-emergency response activities such as pre-fire planning, fire and life safety education, and station-based training activities. I 0. Supervise and participate in the care and maintenance of a fire station, apparatus, equipment, and grounds. II . Assist and advise Deputy Chief in all matters related to fire safety, fire protection, life safety and hazardous materials control programs. 12. Assist in overall department planning, programming and administration. 13. Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures and standards. 14. Prepare and review a variety of records and reports; prepare paper work for training, emergency response, performance evaluations, and leave requests. 15. Maintain discipline and develop documentation pertaining to employee performance, as well as keep record of shift and individual training. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
