Job Requirements

- English Language skills: IELTS: 6, STEP: 75, or TOEFL: (PBT: 500) (IBT: 61) Education: Certificate of Training in Fire Prevention or other relevant training courses or equivalent such as NFPA or Fire Prevention or Safety Management from an accredited fire engineering school or academy, or a comprehensive in-house training in combination with relevant ranking - E Certified trainer for selected in-house programs - E Work Experience: Minimum of ten ( I 0) years relevant experience, two (2) years of which in supervisory capacity - E Knowledge: Knowledge of fire protection NFP N JCI codes and standards and structural firefighting experience - E Familiar with the existing and new Fire Suppression Systems - E Basic knowledge of CPR training required - E Formal training and qualifications as a Firefighter and have successfully completed Specialized Courses - E Skills in basic coaching and motivational techniques, adaptation of lesson plan or materials appropriate to specific instructional situations and methods of dealing with disruptive and unsafe behavior - E knowledge of fire training techniques and strategies - E Knowledge of fire science, fire and rescue equipment and other specialized tools used in fire emergency operations-E Knowledge of basic maintenance of breathing apparatus, its use and limitations - E Must be physically fit to withstand the rigors of firefighting - E Basic knowledge of CPR training required -E Possess a valid Driver's License appropriate to the class of vehicle being operated - E Arabic Language Skills: Essential Computer Skills (Level): Level - II - E

Job Responsibilities

I. Involved with and carry out the following: - the daily functions of training within the department and In-service Training for other departments. - participation in the General Orientation program for new employees. - the planning and delivery of firefighter recruit training program. - in-house trainer for selected training programs. - prepares and updates lesson plans and evaluations. - prepares other instructional materials and training as necessary. - organizes the classroom, or outdoor learning environment to ensure lightings, distractions, climate control, weather, noise control, seating, audiovisual equipment, teaching aids, and safety of trainees are properly considered. - provide input into the short, medium, and long term planning of department training. - oversee all audio visual equipment, teaching aids, training equipment/grounds and demonstration devices generally employed in training programs. - ensures that required equipment for training is available and in working order at all times. - handles qualifications verification of firefighters and other fire service positions. 2. Ensures overall safety of students and participants on training ground during drills, lectures and demonstrations. 3. Evaluate and promote consistency and effectiveness of training practices throughout the department. 4. Evaluates operations and programs locally and in the Fire Industry to make training changes or provide recommendations to the Deputy Chief on any changes deemed necessary to improve overall program effectiveness. 5. Prepares and maintains accurate reports, records, and correspondence along with summaries of the training activities. 6. Might be required to be available for emergency call back to perform firefighting duties. 7. Carries out on-call duties in rotation with other Fire Protection Services Department Officers. 8. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
