Job Requirements

Education: - Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent from an accredited university –Essential. Work Experience: - Minimum of (3) three years’ experience in database design, management and control- Essential. Skills and Knowledge: - Demonstrated ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described. - Sufficient knowledge and experience in various Database Management System (DMBS) administration and maintenance, database design, analysis, and management. - Familiarity with programming languages API - Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding

Job Responsibilities

Main areas of responsibility: - Administer a variety of database system such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oraclem Mango and other Database Management System (DBMS). Assist in the database design required for data repositories. - Develop and enforce database administration and user standards and procedures; audit, modify, and amend data in system using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import. - Oversee the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notification, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites. - Assist in database design and review interactive capabilities (database related) of existing system. - Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of database software. - Assure database integrity, archiving, maintenance, recovery, security and availability. - Analyze database performance and provide recommendations for corrective actions. - Troubleshoot database problems and recommend corrective actions. - Prepare and document special programs, procedures and instructions as required. - Train others on database use management. Perform other general database planning and process including following and enforcing all prescribed safety procedures. - Maintain current database – related information. - Maintain an up to date documentation on related work activities. - Perform other job related duties as required.
